What a venereologist does
A venereologist deals with sexually transmitted infections: examines you, takes swabs, orders tests and, after treatment, checks that the infection has cleared. Patients book one for discharge, itching, sores or a rash on the genitals, after unprotected sex, or to get tested before a new relationship or a planned pregnancy. A rash elsewhere on the skin is for a dermatologist; for burning when peeing without a rash, men often start with a urologist and women with a gynecologist. Bring any earlier results and recall medicines taken in recent weeks: they affect when and which tests are done.
Frequently asked questions
Is a venereologist the same as a dermatovenereologist?
Almost always, yes: clinics often list the position as “dermatovenereologist” — a specialist in both skin conditions and sexually transmitted infections. So nearly all venereologists here also appear among dermatologists, and for skin, hair or nail concerns that list gives you more choice.
Suspect a sexually transmitted infection: venereologist, urologist or gynecologist?
Any of the three: venereologists, urologists and gynecologists all test for these infections. A woman with discharge or pain low in the abdomen can start with a gynecologist, a man with burning when peeing with a urologist, and for sores, a rash or testing both partners, a venereologist is the natural choice. If another specialist is needed, the doctor will say who.
Can I choose a venereologist of my own gender?
Yes. Among the 60 venereologists in this list, 29 are women and 31 are men. The Gender filter lets you keep only women or only men in the list.
Which Yerevan districts have venereologists?
Venereologists in this list most often see patients in Ajapnyak (41), Kentron (7), and Arabkir (6). To search closer to home or work, choose a district in the District filter: only the doctors who see patients there will remain.
About this list
This list covers doctors whom Yerevan clinics name on their own websites: currently 60 doctors from 18 clinics. The list is incomplete and keeps growing; each card leads to a page with the practice location and the clinic’s phone number. There are no such doctors from other Armenian cities in the directory yet.
Cards where the clinic lists experience, education or a consultation price come first, then the rest. Within each group, cards with a photo come first. This is not a ranking: places in the list are not for sale. How we collect and check information
Doctors of related specialties are in the list above. Ask the clinic about the cost of a consultation: some clinics have their price list on their Medaro page.
Medaro is a directory: we do not make diagnoses or recommend a particular doctor. Information about doctors comes from clinic websites; before your visit, check the appointment and the cost with the clinic.
