What a urologist does

A urologist deals with the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urination in people of any sex, and in men also with the prostate and genitals. It is the doctor to see about kidney stones, frequent or painful urges, blood in the urine, leaking urine, a weak stream or getting up at night to pee. If tests show the kidneys filter less well but there are no stones or blockages, a nephrologist usually takes over; erection and male fertility questions also go to an andrologist. Bring a recent urine test and any kidney and bladder ultrasound; men should add an earlier PSA result too.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a visit to a urologist cost in Yerevan?

You can see a consultation price from the clinic’s price list on the pages of 47 of the 114 urologists in this list, next to the date the list was taken. For the other urologists, ask the clinic; test and ultrasound prices are in its price list.

Can I see a female urologist?

Yes. Among the 114 urologists in this list, 4 are women and 107 are men. The easiest way to find a female urologist is the Gender filter: choose “Female”.

Do urologists see only men?

No, women see urologists too — for recurring cystitis, kidney stones or leaking urine when coughing or laughing. Men’s urology (the prostate, erections, fertility) is just one branch, often handled by urologist-andrologists. If a woman has discharge or lower abdominal pain as well as burning, it is better to start with a gynecologist.

Is there a pediatric urologist?

Pediatric urology has no separate list in the directory. For phimosis, an undescended testicle or other genital concerns in boys, families usually go to a pediatric surgeon — see the pediatric surgeons list. With urination complaints, a child is more often seen by a pediatrician first; whether a particular urologist here sees children, check with the clinic.

How do I choose a urologist?

Medaro does not rate doctors or recommend a particular one. Compare what the card lists — work experience, education, practice location, languages and the consultation price if there is one — and ask the clinic about what the page does not show, such as the earliest appointment date.

About this list

This list covers doctors whom Yerevan clinics name on their own websites: currently 114 doctors from 32 clinics. The list is incomplete and keeps growing; each card leads to a page with the practice location and the clinic’s phone number. There are no such doctors from other Armenian cities in the directory yet.

The districts with the most doctors on this list are Kanaker-Zeytun (36), Kentron (24), and Erebuni (18).

Cards where the clinic lists experience, education or a consultation price come first, then the rest. Within each group, cards with a photo come first. This is not a ranking: places in the list are not for sale. How we collect and check information

Doctors of related specialties are in the list above.

Medaro is a directory: we do not make diagnoses or recommend a particular doctor. Information about doctors comes from clinic websites, and for some doctors from a saved copy of the site or a letter from the clinic; before your visit, check the appointment and the cost with the clinic.
