Where these proctologists see patients

What a proctologist does

A proctologist, or coloproctologist, deals with the rectum, the large bowel and the anal area. People come with hemorrhoids, an anal fissure, itching or pain around the anus, long-standing constipation, or to go over colonoscopy results. For stomach pain, bloating or heartburn it makes more sense to start with a gastroenterologist, and the colonoscopy itself is often carried out by a separate endoscopist. When booking, ask whether the examination needs any preparation, and bring reports from earlier colonoscopies if you have them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see a female proctologist?

Yes: of the 39 proctologists on this list, 6 are women and 33 are men. To see only women, choose “Female” in the “Gender” filter.

What happens at a first appointment with a proctologist?

The doctor asks about your symptoms and examines the anal area; if needed, they do a digital exam or an anoscopy — a look with a short instrument, usually without anesthesia. Whether you need to prepare, for example by clearing the bowel the evening before, the clinic will tell you when you book.

Hemorrhoids: should I see a proctologist or a surgeon?

Hemorrhoids are a proctologist’s core work, so start there: after the examination it will be clear whether watching them is enough or a procedure is needed. If there is no proctologist nearby, general surgeons deal with hemorrhoids too — see the list of surgeons. If the bleeding is heavy or your stool is black, do not wait for an appointment — call 103.

How much does a proctologist appointment cost in Yerevan?

28 of the 39 proctologists in this list have a consultation price from the clinic’s price list on their page, dated when the list was taken; for the others, ask the clinic. Procedures and colonoscopy appear as separate lines in the price list.

About this list

This list covers doctors whom Yerevan clinics name on their own websites: currently 39 doctors from 19 clinics. The list is incomplete and keeps growing; each card leads to a page with the practice location and the clinic’s phone number. There are no such doctors from other Armenian cities in the directory yet.

The districts with the most doctors on this list are Kanaker-Zeytun (23), Kentron (7), and Arabkir (7).

Cards where the clinic lists experience, education or a consultation price come first, then the rest. Within each group, cards with a photo come first. This is not a ranking: places in the list are not for sale. How we collect and check information

Doctors of related specialties are in the list above.

Medaro is a directory: we do not make diagnoses or recommend a particular doctor. Information about doctors comes from clinic websites; before your visit, check the appointment and the cost with the clinic.
