Where these physiotherapists see patients

What a physiotherapist does

A physiotherapist carries out procedures that use heat and cold, electric current, ultrasound, a magnetic field or light; with some specialists, a visit also includes exercises and massage. Most people come with a referral from another doctor — after an injury or surgery, with back, neck or joint pain, or when recovery from an illness drags on. If the cause of the pain is still unclear, see a neurologist or traumatologist first: the procedures follow their plan rather than replace an examination. Bring the doctor’s referral or discharge summary to the first visit, and any scans you have had.

Frequently asked questions

Who prescribes physiotherapy?

Usually the doctor you saw with the main complaint: a neurologist for back pain, a traumatologist after a fracture or dislocation, a rheumatologist for joint conditions. The physiotherapist then chooses the procedures and the number of sessions based on that referral. If you need an overall recovery plan after surgery or a stroke, a rehabilitation specialist draws it up.

What is the difference between a physiotherapist and a kinesiotherapist?

In physiotherapy, devices and physical factors such as current, ultrasound and heat do most of the work while you barely move. In kinesiotherapy, or exercise therapy, the core is exercise you do yourself under a specialist’s supervision. Kinesiotherapists have their own page in the directory: kinesiotherapists.

Which Yerevan districts have physiotherapists on this list?

Most physiotherapists on this list work in Kentron (9), Arabkir (9), and Nor Nork (5). Procedures usually come as a course, so you will make the trip more than once — use the “District” filter to find a practice closer to home.

Are there physiotherapists who see patients in Russian or English?

5 physiotherapists of 33 have their consultation languages listed: Russian for 5, English for 4. Use the “Consultation language” filter to find them; for the others, ask the clinic about Russian or English when booking.

About this list

This list covers doctors whom Yerevan clinics name on their own websites: currently 33 doctors from 18 clinics. The list is incomplete and keeps growing; each card leads to a page with the practice location and the clinic’s phone number. There are no such doctors from other Armenian cities in the directory yet.

The list includes 29 women and 4 men — you can choose with the “Gender” filter.

Cards where the clinic lists experience, education or a consultation price come first, then the rest. Within each group, cards with a photo come first. This is not a ranking: places in the list are not for sale. How we collect and check information

Doctors of related specialties are in the list above. Ask the clinic about the cost of a consultation: some clinics have their price list on their Medaro page.

Medaro is a directory: we do not make diagnoses or recommend a particular doctor. Information about doctors comes from clinic websites; before your visit, check the appointment and the cost with the clinic.
