What an immunologist does
An immunologist deals with problems of the body’s defenses: they look into why someone gets infections too often or too severely and follow people with immunodeficiencies. At many clinics the immunologist also sees patients as an allergist. Autoimmune joint diseases are handled by a rheumatologist, and with swollen lymph nodes people go to a general practitioner first. Bring discharge summaries about past infections, earlier blood test results and your vaccination record.
Frequently asked questions
Does an immunologist treat allergies?
Usually yes: clinics list most immunologists as allergists too. Doctors with “allergist” in their title are in the allergists list; if a card says only “immunologist”, ask the clinic whether the doctor sees allergy patients.
I catch colds all the time — should I see an immunologist?
Start with a general practitioner (for a child, a pediatrician): the doctor will look at how often and with what you get ill and decide whether tests and an immunologist are needed. There is little point in doing “immunity” tests at random before the visit — the doctor will tell you which ones you need.
Which Yerevan clinics have immunologists?
The immunologists in this list see patients at 11 clinics. The clinics with the most immunologists: Allergology&Immunology Center (11), "Heratsi" University Hospital Complex No. 1 (2), and Mikayelyan Institute of Surgery (2).
About this list
This list covers doctors whom Yerevan clinics name on their own websites: currently 20 doctors from 11 clinics. The list is incomplete and keeps growing; each card leads to a page with the practice location and the clinic’s phone number. There are no such doctors from other Armenian cities in the directory yet.
The districts with the most doctors on this list are Kentron (14), Kanaker-Zeytun (3), and Erebuni (2). The list includes 18 women and 2 men — you can choose with the “Gender” filter.
Cards where the clinic lists experience, education or a consultation price come first, then the rest. Within each group, cards with a photo come first. This is not a ranking: places in the list are not for sale. How we collect and check information
Doctors of related specialties are in the list above. Ask the clinic about the cost of a consultation: some clinics have their price list on their Medaro page.
Medaro is a directory: we do not make diagnoses or recommend a particular doctor. Information about doctors comes from clinic websites; before your visit, check the appointment and the cost with the clinic.
